One-day clinic that introduces shooters to the sport of service rifle competition, Participants should have a basic knowledge of firearm safety and some experience shooting a rifle before taking this course. A good 100 yard zero on your rifle is also necessary.

Clinic taught by CMP GSM Certified Master Instructor, and coached by CMP and NRA classified service rifle competitors including a female coach.

Students will be taught about the sport of service rifle competition, firearms and range safety, aspects of legal rifles, equipment used in the sport, the fundamentals of marksmanship, how to build shooting positions, use of a sling and how to compete in a service rifle match.

Clinic includes classroom instruction and on range, coached, dry fire and live fire.


Note pad and pen

A rifle for competition, eligible rifles are:

AR15, M1A (M14), M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, 1903.

Other vintage military rifles.

50 rounds of ammunition, Eye and hearing protection, Lunch, and Drinks.

These items will be available to borrow, but please bring them if you have them.

Sling – Web or 1907, Empty chamber flag indicator (safety flag) Spotting scope and stand.

ELIGIBILTY: Class is open to all adults, and juniors 12 years of age and older (with adult).
